Upcoming Lecture

One God, Complex Self

Carol Rausch Albright
Visiting Professor, Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago

Abstract:
Our relationships with God are experienced and expressed variously: through prayer and meditation, ritual and worship, emotions, understandings, interactions with others, and decision making. These involve various parts of the brain and, since mind and body interact in a continual feedback loop, body is part of the picture as well.

The presentation will briefly show how aspects of spirituality are both experienced and influenced by various parts of the brain, acting separately and in concert.

The lecture is sponsored by the Albertus Magnus Society for the Intersection of Religion and Science at the Dominican University Siena Center as part of a monthly series. Monthly Meetings of the Albertus Magnus Society for the Intersection of Religion and Science are informal, with plenty of time for questions and discussion. There is no charge for members, guests and other interested persons.

Please RSVP so that we know the number planning to attend: Siena Center: (708) 714-9105 or siena@dom.edu.
